Manager/Coach Selection

The Selection Process Explained — Managers

AAA and Majors Divisions

All potential managers must have registered themselves through CSLL website, answered all questions and have uploaded their Volunteer Form (done during registration process). Be sure to choose Manager under the correct division you are applying for and be sure to indicate manager on volunteer form.

  • Once you’ve registered, your application will be reviewed by the Manager Selection Committee.
  • Managers are selected using three criteria points- Experience, Past volunteerism, and Positive Coaching Feedback.
  • Once you’ve been approved you will receive an email from a Committee member.
  • If you are applying as a first time Manager in CSLL, you may receive a interview call from a Manager Selection Committee member.

Tee-Ball, Single-A, and Double-A Divisions

  • Same application process as AAA and majors.
  • Every season we are generally short on Tee Ball and Single A managers. If we don’t have enough mangers for each team. The Manager Selection Committee will contact parents from the division asking for a volunteer to assume a team.
  • If you are applying as a first time Manager in CSLL, you may receive a interview call from a Manager Selection Committee member.

Please note: We don’t know how many managers we will need until player registration is near completion. Please remember that just because you have registered and were approved as a manager, does not mean that you are guaranteed to get a team.

Be sure to choose Coach under the correct division you are applying for and be sure to indicate manager on volunteer form.
  • Once you’ve registered, your application will be reviewed by the Coach Selection Committee.

Screening Process

Background Checks for All Volunteers

All volunteers — coaches, managers, safety officers, etc. — must have background check performed. New for this season we are using an online system endorsed by Little League® International. You will receive an email form JDP inviting you to a five-minute questionnaire.

Who is JDP?: JDP is the provider of background checks used by Little League International.

Please be on the lookout for this email after registering yourself as a volunteer as it sometimes looks like spam.

Note that you will not be able to step on a field or interact with any underage players until the background check has been completed, so please be sure to finish all of the steps to avoid any delays.
